Trees.  They beautify the landscape, offer shade on a sunny California day and now are at the forefront of an operation to use their wonderful ability to convert Carbon Dioxide into Oxygen in the smoggiest city in America…Los Angeles, CA.  The South Coast Air Quality Management District (South Coast AQMD) is the air pollution control agency for all of Orange County (housewives included) and the urban portions of Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties.  According to a recent report from the AQMD they have funding for trees in excess of $800,000 to help the local districts plant more oxygen making smog eating trees.  This is a match giving program that will allow the districts to double their tree budget with the intent of improving air quality.  So no buying plastic ficus trees under the guise of helping…don’t do it.

  1. Planting trees is the best thing to do. Anywhere in this world not only in California, we have to plant trees. Thank you for reminding us to take care of our Mother Nature.
