U.S. District Judge Martin Feldman, a judge in New Orleans, LA, has made a ruling against President Obama’s moratorium on offshore “Deep Water” drilling. Let me say that ONE MORE TIME. A judge in NEW ORLEANS has ruled AGAINST President Obama’s moratorium on OFFSHORE “DEEP WATER” DRILLING. It seems that Judge Feldman has stock holding in numerous oil companies including Transocean who was leasing the Deepwater Horizon rig from BP when it exploded. The plot thickens, as does the water in the Gulf of Mexico.
President Obama, following the explosion on the oil rig that led to the horrible oil spill still devastating the Gulf of Mexico, imposed a 6 month moratorium on offshore drilling. The moratorium set by the Interior Department, according to Judge Feldman, failed to provide adequate reasoning. ADEQUATE REASONING! Sixty-thousand barrels a day flowing into the Gulf of Mexico per day isn’t adequate enough to halt for examination? I’m shocked a Judge in Louisiana could make this ruling which went in favor of the oil companies who’s business suffered from the moratorium. What about all the people in the Gulf states that are out of work because of the current oil disaster? What about the wildlife covered in oil and dead…or still alive and covered in oil? What about the long term effect on the coast of YOUR OWN STATE Judge Feldman? Seems that Judge Feldman was more interested in the state for his financial portfolio than the state he lives in. He’s currently in the state of denial and if all goes well the state penitentiary. The White House will appeal Judge Feldman’s ruling.
If you want to personally let Judge Feldman know how you feel, give him a call @ (504)589-7550. That’s the number for his chambers at the courthouse. Happy dialing!
