The Jam-Gods have once again smiled upon the Southern California jam community. Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus and he’s bringing you THREE presents early this year…Cubensis with Moonalice in San Diego, Orange County and Los Angeles!
Bringing together Southern California’s premier Grateful Dead experience with Moonalice’s infinate experience with some of the major acts of the last 30 years will, no doubt, result in a musical adventure that we’ve not seen in the So. Cal. scene since Cube did their mini-tour with JGB a few years ago or the “Truckin’ Up The Coast” tour with Vince Welnick even farther back.
Cubensis, the 24 year veteran of the Grateful Dead tribute scene, has played over the years with a plethora of noted musicians including Warren Haynes and Chris Robinson as “guests’ but the Moonalice double bill will take it to another level. Moonalice includes the incomparable Barry Sless (Bruce Hornsby & The Range, Phil Lesh & Friends, David Nelson Band) on guitar, John Molo (Phil Lesh & Friends, Furthur) on drums, Pete Sears (Jefferson Starship, Hot Tuna) on bass and keys, Ann McNamee on keys and Chubby Wombat (Rob McNamee) on bass and guitar. A truly Hall of Fame line-up. While each band is slated to play individual sets, let’s all pray for a collective jam at the end!
“These are going to be transcendental concerts,” said Cubensis frontman, Craig Marshall. “Moonalice will open for Cubensis each show, by their request, and do a 90 minute set.”
