Steve Molitz to Join Quactus at San Diego Winston’s Show September 2nd

On September 2nd Quactus will be joined by Steve Molitz, of Particle and Phil & Friends, on stage at Winston’s Beach Club in San Diego. Quactus will be celebrating the release of their 2nd album, A Sense of We, by creating a communal atmosphere where even the audience will be encouraged to participate in the jams.  To the band, A Sense of We is what we all celebrate when people come together and share in the enjoyment of music, a cultural phenomenon as primitive as it is relevant.

“We are so excited that Steve (Molitz) can join us in San Diego. His contributions to the album gave it that little bit of extra something…the icing on the proverbial cake,” said Matt McDufee, Quactus’ drummer.

Quactus kicked off the A Sense of We Tour at LA’s The Mint on Saturday August 28th with a host of special guests including Steve Harris (Cubensis) and Mike Mangan (Big Organ Trio). Mangan also contributed to the A Sense of We album. The Mint was a packed house for 3.5 hours of non-stop musical exploration.

Extra performances will be lead by HoopSoul, an exciting company that seeks to unite the arts through dancing, painting, and musical expression.

For the album A Sense of We, Quactus called upon Mike Mangan of Big Organ Trio and Particle’s master of the keys, Steve Molitz to add Hammond B3 and keyboard accents to two of the albums tracks.  Shortly before the release, Relix Magazine named the first track off the album, “At Ease,” as “Editors Pick of the Month” in their April-May 2010 issue.

Winston’s Beach Club is located at 1921 bacon Street, San Diego, CA 92107. The show starts at 9 PM. Admission is FREE!
