Shakedown News is thrilled to see that Quactus and Cubensis are coming together on one stage to celebrate the spooktacular Halloween holiday on October 30th at The Mint in Los Angeles, CA.
Southern California’s longest running Grateful Dead Tribute, Cubensis, has a Halloween tradition that includes the performance of the “Mystery Album” which is a complete set of an album that is NOT a Grateful Dead album. The rumor mill has been speculating on this years selection. A large contingency seems to think “Joe’s Garage” by Frank Zappa but we can’t confirm or deny this rumor. Cubensis insiders refuse to comment. There will also be a full set of Grateful Dead tunes.
Quactus, the West Coast Umphrey’s McGee, has something completely different planned for the celebration of the Halloween holiday. They won’t say what, but if the “Ghostbusters” theme song closer at Dead on the Mountain is any indication, we are in store for a tasty set of Spooky Quactus. Quactus is currently touring in support of their new CD, A SENSE OF WE.
The show starts at 7:30 and tickets are available for $15.00 on The Mint’s website.
Cubensis will repeat the Mystery Album on Halloween at the Marlin Bar & Grill in Huntington Beach, CA.
