Dark Star Orchestra, the Grateful Dead Tribute that recreates setlists previously performed by the Grateful Dead is bringing their ‘City Near You’ tour to the West Coast. Each night of DSO’s upcoming tour they will be performing a Grateful Dead show from a city near to the venue.
“With all the GD history out West, anything is possible so join us as we recreate the magic!” says DSO on their website.
DSO kicked off the tour at the beautiful Crystal Bay Casino in Lake Tahoe, NV with a set originally performed by the Grateful Dead on 8/12/72 at the Sacramento Memorial Auditorium, Sacramento CA. San Francisco’s shows included sets from 6/9/84 at Cal Expo Amphitheatre, Sacramento, CA and 4/5/69 at the Avalon Ballroom, San Francisco, CA.
San Diego, like San Francisco, will feature a special acoustic show! Along the way they will cover most of California including: LA, Sacramento and Anaheim plus shows in Las Vegas and Crystal Bay, NV, Tempe and Flagstaff AZ, Salt Lake City and a ‘Mile High’ tour closer show at The Fillmore in Denver.
DSO will perform at The Grove in Anaheim, CA on December 2nd and The El Rey in Los Angeles, CA on December 3rd.
