Well, they can’t bill it as the Grateful Dead because they officially buried that name in Chicago last month but three of the four “Core Four” members of the Grateful Dead will attempt to wake “The Dead” on Halloween in New York City at a place they threw many the epic party as the Grateful Dead…Madison Square Garden.

Billed as “Dead and Company” (although Los Muertos y Amigos was considered), the new rendition of the famed 60’s band features surviving Grateful Dead members guitarist Bob Weir and drummers Mickey Hart and Bill Kreutzmann.  Rounding out the line-up will be guitarist John Mayer, former Allman Brothers Band bassist Oteil Burbridge and RatDog keyboard player Jeff Chimenti.  Chimenti performed with the Grateful Dead at all of the Fare Thee Well-GD50 shows.

Tickets go on sale for American Express card holders at 10 a.m. Aug. 13, and to the general public at 10 a.m. Aug. 14. A link for the band, deadandcompany.com, is not currently active.
