2015 LA Bluegrass Situation Festival Features Live Performances By
Dawes, Punch Brothers, The Lone Bellow, Gregory Alan Isakov and More
The LA Bluegrass Situation at the Greek Theatre, LA on October 3 will feature food, fun, and activities for the whole family, plus a full day of the best roots music in Los Angeles! Kicking-off in the afternoon, the festival boasts a variety of local BBQ favorites and craft beers, with games and live music taking place in the Greek’s plaza, while the headlining artists will perform under the stars at the iconic venue.
The day begins with variations on an American barbeque, featuring fresh California cuisine representing some of the best Los Angeles hot spots, including Cassell’s (presenting a full pig on a spit), Status Kuo, Malo Malo S’mores, Oyster Club LA, The Lobos Truck — named the #1 Food Truck in 2014 – plus much more. From Taiwanese BBQ to Oysters, comfort food favorites to decadent delights there will be something to tantalize every taste bud. California’s Lagunitas Brewery Company will be pouring craft beers, plus specialty cocktails and wines will be served.
The Greek’s plaza will be transformed into a backyard BBQ with lawn games, presented by Pendleton Woolen Mills, free guitar and banjo lessons (from Weber Mandolins) and performances by emerging acts such as Sam Outlaw, Spirit Family Reunion, Jonny Fritz, The Dustbowl Revival, and The Wild Reeds. Tickets to the 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation allow access to the food and plaza activities, which begin at 2:00 PM.
The main stage will kick-off at 5:00 PM with performances by Dawes (coming off of their recently released, critically lauded album “All Your Favorite Bands”), Punch Brothers, Gregory Alan Isakov, The Lone Bellow and Della Mae (both veterans of the 2015 sold out Stagecoach Festival).

A full day festival with amazing roots music, family activities and LA’s favorite local food vendors, all outdoors at the stunning Greek Theatre tucked within Griffith Park. If only you could also have a cold beer right at sunset. Oh wait… you can!” said Ed Helms, actor and co-founder of The Bluegrass Situation.
The combined collective represents the breadth of talent The Bluegrass Situation has come to represent, bridging the musical gap between traditional and progressive, and showcasing the impact Los Angeles has on the bluegrass scene with the rise of LA natives Dawes, Sam Outlaw, Dustbowl Revival and The Wild Reeds.
Presented by The Bluegrass Situation, Goldenvoice, and Nederlander Concerts, the 2015 LA Bluegrass Situation marks the fifth year of the annual event co-founded by actor/comedian/musician Ed Helms.
