If you’ve seen a concert at one of the bigger venues in Southern California, you are no doubt familiar with Nederlander Concerts.  Nederlander Concerts, the premier family-owned promoter, its affiliated venues and some key executives have been nominated for multiple honors by leading industry trade publications, recognizing their accomplishments in 2015.

Billboard Magazine has nominated Nederlander Concerts for Top Independent Promoter (U.S.) of the year.  This year, Nederlander produced and promoted nearly 300 shows at venues of all sizes across California.  From the intimate year-round 1,700 capacity City National Grove of Anaheim to the 3,300 capacity outdoor Vina Robles Amphitheatre in Paso Robles, Nederlander provides diverse programming in any market.  Nederlander promoted shows at several third party facilities this year, such as Neil Young at RIMAC Arena in San Diego, Woody Allen at the Orpheum Theatre, Chris Isaak at the Civic Arts Plaza in Thousand Oaks and Lila Downs at the Hollywood Pantages, plus promoted shows at the Forum in Inglewood, including Janet Jackson, Scorpions and Don Henley. This award is based on industry achievement and the winner will be announced during the 12th Annual Billboard Touring Awards on November 19 in New York.

The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles, exclusively operated and booked by Nederlander Concerts, was once again nominated for North America’s “Best Small Outdoor Venue of the Year” and its General Manager, Rena Wasserman was nominated for “Facility Executive of the Year,” by Pollstar Magazine. The Greek Theatre has won this prestigious award 14 times, with 10 consecutive wins and Rena Wasserman has won “Facility Executive of the Year” three times and been nominated for the past six years.

The Santa Barbara Bowl, which Nederlander Concerts promotes and programs, was also nominated for “Best Small Outdoor Venue of the Year,” marking its seventh nomination. The Pollstar Awards honor artists, management, talent buyers, venues, support services and more for their professionalism, achievements and abilities. Winners are determined by votes from the international readership of Pollstar and will be announced during the 28th Annual Pollstar Awards taking place on February 12, 2016 in San Francisco.

Additionally, Nederlander Concerts marketers, Jay Hughen, Vanessa Kromer and Jamie Loeb, have been nominated for Venues Today magazine’s “Hall of Headlines,” for their #WeAreTheGreek campaign.  The campaign was created to inform, rally and give voice to the Greek Theatre’s neighbors and local businesses and ultimately generated over 30,000 Change.org petition signatures and rallied hundreds of home and business owners to speak at dozens of local neighborhood council meetings across the city.  The final honors will go to individuals who have made a significant contribution to the industry in 2015, making headlines along the way.

“We are thrilled to be recognized by our industry peers and nominated for these prestigious honors,” said Alex Hodges, CEO of Nederlander Concerts.  “We have an incredible team, who are innovative and passionate.  They work hard to ensure that the community, fans, artists, their managers and agents have a topnotch experience at our venues and live events.”
