LISTEN TO FIRST SINGLE, DAMN! HERE.
Colorado’s own progressive funk outfit The Motet returns to their hometown for a headlining show at Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Friday, July 22. Joining The Motet on the bill are Medeski Martin & Wood and Vulfpeck, with DJ Mikey Thunder spinning between sets. The show comes just two weeks after the release of The Motet’s brand new studio album, Totem, set to hit streets July 8, 2016.
In celebration of The Motet’s upcoming Red Rocks play, 15+ Denver and Front Range breweries and bars have partnered with The Motet for #MotetOnTap to giveaway an epic Red Rocks prize package including VIP tickets, a backstage tour, round-trip shuttles and more. To enter the giveaway, fans are visiting participating locations, posting a picture with a special edition Motet Red Rocks pint glass, and sharing it with #MotetOnTap. Check out #MotetOnTap participation on socials HERE.
Denver Artisan Beer Project Crooked Stave is going a step further to celebrate The Motet’s album Totem. Their limited edition Damn! IPA draft – and Totem Wild Ale in bottles, are both available beginning June 16. Progressive funk + progressive beer = fun & yum.
Starting July 15th, fans can visit select Boulder/Denver Sweet Cow locations to taste “Motet Mocha”, an Ozo Coffee ice cream with chocolate covered espresso beans and a homemade hot fudge swirl. Colorado-based Sweet Cow will also be serving Motet Mocha from their Moo Mobile at Red Rocks for fans to enjoy before and after the show. A portion of proceeds from Moo Mobile Red Rocks sales will be donated to the Colorado Conservatory of Jazz Arts.
The Motet’s new album Totem will be released on July 8, 2016. Produced by Lettuce and Soulive guitarist Eric Krasno, Totem was written collectively by the seven members of The Motet.
Fans can pre-order Totem now at themotet.bandcamp.com. A full album download is included in all pre-orders, with various “package” options available – including a Totem CD signed by each member of The Motet and more.
Earlier this year, The Motet announced the addition of singer Lyle Divinsky, who fans the flames of this already hot band. “There was a month and a half between the time I joined the band and when we went into the studio,” explains Divinsky. “I wound up writing the lyrics and melodies to four songs, and re-wrote the lyrics to two. It gave me and the band an opportunity to really connect musically. We’re deeply proud of this album and it’s very exciting to have this new material to push out as we begin this next phase of The Motet’s journey.”
