Fruition Announces Fall Tour and New Album

Fruition announced today they have a new 4 song EP due out, and you won’t have to wait very long. The “Fire” EP is out August 17th, features 4 new studio tracks including the first single, a new original from Mimi called “Baby, Let’s Go” which will be available on all digital services this Friday, August 10th. That song, and studio versions of a new Jay tune called “Dirty Thieves” and “Fire” were recorded in the same sessions as their most recent album with producer Tucker Martine. “New Colossus” was engineered and mixed by Fruition’s own, Tyler Thompson.

The band will be hitting the Midwest, Mid-Atlantic and East Coast for Fall Tour, and finishing up with 3 shows near their home of Portland, OR.  Daniel Edward Rodriguez, The Lil Smokies and Yak Attack joining them on select shows.

Fans can pre-order the CD or digital download from Fruition’s web store, and check out an unreleased live video of the band performing “Fire” last year at Red Rocks here http://hyperurl.co/yj36oe.  Fruition will return to Red Rocks on 8/18/18 with Railroad Earth!

The first 3 months worth of digital sales and streams from “Dirty Thieves” and “New Colossus” will be donated to charities closely aligned with the subject matter of those songs.

“Dirty Thieves” was written by Jay Cobb Anderson as a result of the band van being broken into while playing a show at Brick & Mortar in San Francisco’s Mission district. The song references being woken up to the area’s homeless problem by the sound of shattered glass, feeling inconvenienced by the theft at first, but upon looking closer, seeing it as another human struggling to survive. It imagines them using what was taken to somehow improve their desperate situation that is all too often overlooked. Keeping in spirit with the songs message, initial proceeds will go to San Francisco’s Community Housing Project who’s mission is to help homeless people secure housing and become self-sufficient.

“New Colossus,” composed by Kellen Asebroek, uses lyrics taken from Emma Lazarus’ poem of the same name which is engraved on the base of the Statue of Liberty. In turn, the first 3 months’ proceeds will be donated to the National Immigration Law Center.
