The String Cheese Incident (SCI) returns to Colorado for their annual New Year’s Eve run of shows, this year kicking off a yearlong celebration of the band’s prolific 25-year career. The always highly anticipated event, which takes place at the 1STBANK Center in Broomfield, CO on December 28th, 29th and 31st, will feature a stacked list of special guest musicians, the first ever “Land’s End Museum” displaying a historical capsule of 25 years of SCI, and of course, the band’s signature New Year’s Eve production spectacle. Check out the animated preview for the NYE celebration, created by the cutting edge animators at Bent Image Lab (Modest Mouse, Thom Yorke, LCD Soundsystem) here. Single and Multi-Day Tickets, and Ultimate Incident VIP & Travel Packages, are on sale now at www.stringcheeseincident.com.
The String Cheese Incident formed in 1993 in Colorado and have spent the past 25 years securing their place as one of the most significant and beloved independent bands in the country. With 10 albums and endless tour dates with as many live-recordings released, SCI has remained fiercely committed to their pioneering spirit. Over the past 25 years, SCI has opened their stage to a diverse array of musicians to collaborate and thrill audiences, from Lauryn Hill to Skrillex and Big Gigantic, to Zac Brown, The Doobie Brothers and Kool & The Gang — to name a few. Rethinking the manner in which artists interact with their fans, The String Cheese Incident constructed an innovative business model to grow and nurture a massive, devoted fan base. Constantly pushing creative boundaries, they have helped redefine the live music experience by absorbing multiple artistic concepts into their total presentation. Today, SCI is thrilled to kick off a yearlong celebration of their truly impressive, dedicated and passionate career the best way they know — by throwing the greatest New Year’s party around.
Most recently, The String Cheese Incident has released three new tracks, among a collection of more than a half dozen this year, from their ongoing SCI Sound Lab project. The SCI Sound Lab series, inspired by “The Lab,” SCI’s brand new Colorado studio, encourages experimentation with recording concepts and genres. It’s with that spirit that SCI recently released “Gone Crooked” co-written with Rayland Baxter, Michael Travis’ politically-charged “Illegal,” and “Manga,” inspired by Cameroonian bassist Andre Manga. The band can next be seen on the road in 2019 with a weekend residency at the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas, NV, on February 15-17th, followed by the MontBleu Resort in Lake Tahoe, CA, on February 21st – 23rd, and a run of dates throughout the Spring. Please see below for all currently announced shows, with more to be announced soon. Stay tuned for more information on upcoming SCI 25th Anniversary celebrations to be announced soon.
