Why NYKO, NYKO? Kendra explains, “After returning to Los Angeles from a trip to record in New York City, Kendra saw a license plate leaving the airport that read ‘NYKO334’, and the idea of the New York Knock Out was born. The song’s playing style is heavily inspired by traditional blues musicians. Similarly, the lyric and chord progressions stem out of the song ‘Iko, Iko’ by Dixie Cups and “Not Fade Away” by Buddy Holly. Kendra & the Bunnies are big fans of the Grateful Dead, who covers both of these songs extensively.”

Kendra has promised 5% of sales donated to The Rex Foundation.
