Popular Ocean Beach Venue, Winstons, Announces Indefinite Closure Beginning This Sunday

Yesterday, Winstons, the popular music venue in Ocean Beach, CA that has hosted many local, regional and national touring acts in the jamband world and beyond, announced that they will be “closing it’s doors temporarily…until SOMETHING gives.” The announcement came as a shock to many in the So. Cal Jamband community. Winstons has been hosting Monday night livestream shows from San Diego Grateful Dead band, Electric Waste Band. No word if this will continue.

We love Teddy and the whole crew at Winston’s and have seen so many great shows there. He’s to “SOMETHING” giving very soon so they can get back to doing what they do best…put on great shows.

From Winstons Facebook Page:

“This kind of announcement is not easy, especially during a stressful time like this. And since there is no way to sugarcoat it, here goes:

Sadly, after this weekend, Winstons is closing its doors temporarily…until SOMETHING gives.

Our last day open for business will be this Sunday, 11/8, until we are able to either get another loan from Washington, a grant OR if live music starts up again, and we don’t see any of those things happening anytime soon. 🙁

Of course, this will also be our last football Sunday at Winstons. Let’s get together and scream at the TVs.

HOURS:
FRIDAY: CLOSED
SATURDAY: 4:30-10:30pm
SUNDAY: 8:30am-8:30pm

Please come by, support our AMAZING staff and help us drink up!! There WILL be food (pretzels, chili, etc. or from our neighbors, OB Kabob). And remember, WE LOVE YOU ALL!”
