Charlie Pride, the first African American inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame and three time Grammy Award winner, passed away on December 12 at the age of 86. Reported cause of death was complications from COVID-19.
Pride is body well known for his songs “Just Between You and Me”, “Kiss An Angel Good Morning”, “Is Any Going to San Antone” and many more.
Last month, Pride was honored by the Country Music Association with the Willie Nelson Lifetime Achievement Award. He performed with country singer Jimmie Allen the Pride classic “Kiss an Angel Good Mornin’” in what would be Pride’s final performance.
