Umphrey’s Returns to Southern California, San Diego House of Blues and Wiltern in Los Angeles

In two weeks, Southern California will be invaded once again by the hottest thing to come out of the Chicago-land area since Michael Jordan, Umphrey’s McGee.  They’ll slide on into San Diego on March 14th and perform at the House of Blues followed by a trip up the coast on Saturday to play The Wiltern Theater in LA.  In case you missed it, here’s my review of last year’s Umprhrey’s show at the House of Blues, Sunset.

Umphrey’s McGee Closes Two Night Run at House of Blues, Sunset, with a Hard Rocking Show

Umphrey’s McGee, the hot rockin’ progressive rock/jamband from Chicago returned to Los Angeles for their annual appearance in West Hollywood at the House of Blues on Sunset, March 22nd & 23rd.  This time delivering a double dose of UM, ShakedownNews got a chance to catch night two of the run and boy was it worth the trip!

Normally occurring on or around St. Patty’s Day, the Umphrey’s McGee show in Hollywood was no different this time.  They missed the green beer by a week but the SOLD OUT crowd didn’t seem to notice as they piled into the House of Blues on Sunset strip on a Saturday night.  A years worth of anticipation stewing up within the LA crowd was blown out of their system on Friday night and they all had the look in their eyes of satisfaction and a “how could they top that” air about them.
