Friday night Cubensis, Southern California’s Grateful Dead Tribute, played their 27th Anniversary concert in Long Beach, CA at the PCH Club. In the first set they paid tribute to soul legend Bobby Womack who had passed away earlier that day, with a great rendition of “Love Is Gonna Lift You Up” off Bobby Womack’s last album, Bravest Man in the Universe. Nate LaPointe, Womack’s long time guitarist, who is also a member of Cubensis, took the lead vocals to pay respect to the man he’s shared the stage with for many years. Check it out!
They followed that up with another Womack tune, made famous by the Rolling Stones, “All Over Now”.
