So, last Friday I had the pleasure of visiting the new Grammy Museum at LA Live in Downtown Los Angeles. My first trip to the relatively new fixture downtown, I didn’t know what to expect. What to my wondrous eyes did appear as I walked through the front door but Janis Joplin’s painted Porche sitting there in it’s full hippieness. As I strolled through the museum I found quite a few cool things including Pete Seger’s banjo a full stage of interactive instruments and various other cool music history interactive exhibits. Exactly what you’d expect from the Grammy Museum.
Then, on the last floor of my journey through musical history appeared the exhibit that every fan of the 60’s psychedelic rock era would love to see…an entire floor dedicated to Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix and Jim Morrison.
If you love the music, you’ll dig the exhibit. According to the Grammy Museum folks, it’s going to be there through February 13, 2011. Check out these pix and then go see it yourself! Tickets to the Grammy Museum are $12.95 for Adults and $10.95 for kids.
