A Daisy Carnival by any other name would be called a RAVE. Last weekend’s 14th Annual Electric Daisy Carnival featuring mostly DJ’s like will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas, Moby and Deadmau5 among others went from a two day electro-fest to mob rule fueled by drugs and high energy music resulting in the death of a 15 year old girl and hundreds injured. How exactly do you contain and control 180,000 people in the middle of central Los Angeles over a weekend? Watch this video and you’ll understand that you CAN’T!

The final damage count: 2 days, 180,000 attendance, 226 injured, 114 hospitalized and 1 dead concert goer. But can you really call this a concert? Is it a music festival? Is it a rave? What it appeared to be was an uncontrollable mob. The city of Los Angeles and the Coliseum are discussing whether or not to host more events like this.
