Peter Green, Co-Founder of Fleetwood Mac Dies at 73

Original member and co-founder of the band Fleetwood Mac, Peter Green, has died at the age of 73. Green along with drummer, Mick Fleetwood, started the band in 1967. After directing the production of Fleetwood Mac’s first three albums, Green left the band after a last performance in 1970. He struggled with his mental health and was eventually diagnosed with schizophrenia and spent time in the hospital in the mid-70s.

Green was among the eight members of the band (Mick Fleetwood, Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, John McVie, Christine McVie, Danny Kirwan and Jeremy Spencer) who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.

Green died peacefully in his sleep.
